"I have always had a passion for animals. From the moment I met my first pet at age 5 - a puppy named Smurf - I knew that I wanted to spend my time caring for dogs. In 2018 I started Going Mutts, and my lifelong dream became a reality. Going Mutts was founded with the idea that every pup is deserving of the love, care, attention and socialization needed to thrive.
Prior to founding Going Mutts, I actively volunteered with the Humane Society helping foster dogs either make weight, work on training, take a break from the shelter, receive socialization, and in many cases all of the above. Seeing the progress that these pups made with a little bit of love solidified my desire to have a career that allowed me to make a difference in the lives of dogs.
Nothing brings me more joy than filling my days with wagging tails and slobbery pup kisses. I treat every dog as if it were my own and am committed to keeping the dogs in my care safe at all times. This is why I am certified in Pet First Aid, fully licensed and insured, regularly attend courses on dog behaviour, psychology and training, and stay up to date on industry literature. I only use force free training methods and tailor every walk to meet the unique needs of each pup.
Since launching Going Mutts, my extended family has grown in leaps and bounds. I now count myself lucky to work with some truly exceptional pups and their people! When I'm not walking dogs, you can find me with my Fox Red Lab, Scottie, cruising around all of the wonderful trails and neighbourhoods that the city has to offer.
Going Mutts is always looking to grow our family, and we'd love for you to join our pack!"

FOUNDER OF GOING MUTTS

Clara joins the Going Mutts team all the way from Brazil, where she developed a passion for working with dogs. She fostered and rehabilitated many pups while living in Brazil, and made the journey to Canada alongside her German Shepherd, Diana, and her Rottweiler, Estebe. She rescued Estebe after he was abandoned on the side of the road when he was just a puppy, and worked tirelessly to nurse him back to health, and provide him with training to help him cope with his fear and anxiety. 6 years later, he is the happiest, healthiest pup and is loving his new life in Toronto!
Clara's personal and volunteer experience, along with her gentle approach to dog handling and training are an invaluable asset to the Going Mutts pups.
Clara made an instant connection with the Going Mutts pack, and has since fostered the most special bonds with each and every one of her pups. You can catch her and her packs bopping around King and Queen West every weekday!

Tamires became part of the Going Mutts family in 2022, joining us from Brazil (our second Brazilian pack leader!!). She raised 4 rescue pups in Brazil, and through caring for her own pups she developed a strong passion for working with dogs.
Her passion shows through her work daily - the level of care that she provides to each pup in her pack is unmatched. She goes above and beyond to ensure that every dog has the best possible walk experience. Tamires can be found covering our King West service area, every weekday!

SERENA
Serena has had a lifelong passion for dogs nurtured by her upbringing with a beloved Golden Retriever. Over the last few years, she gained hands-on experience through volunteering at animal rescues in both California and Toronto.
During her time at Hopalong Animal Rescue in Berkeley and the Humane Society in Toronto, she developed valuable skills in animal care, handling, and understanding canine behaviour. These experiences have instilled in her a deep appreciation for the well-being and happiness of dogs, making her dedicated to providing exceptional care and attention to every furry friend in her charge. Her combination of experience, dedication, and genuine love for dogs have made her a great addition to our team.
Serena is a natural pack leader, and easily creates bonds with each pup in her care. Her calm and friendly demeanour paired with her reliable, hardworking and diligent nature make her the perfect dog walker - both human and pup clients would agree! Keep an eye out for her cruising with her packs Monday- Friday in the King West hoods.
